Today we went to the World of Style by Porter Davis in South Melbourne.
It’s our first visit so we had no idea what to expect.
I’m colour blind and apparently I have no taste when it comes to design and clashes of colour, so I left it to my wife to make all the decisions while I attempted to contain my anxiety as she went through and picked the non-included higher category tiles, benchtops, cabinetry finishes, etc… Sounds like the allowances turned out to be quite spot on (or perhaps even on the conservative end).
After the 2 hours, which went by so quickly, we had only covered the kitchen benchtop, cabinet colour and type, flooring, bathroom floor and wall tiles, and some electrical. I feel like we definitely need many more hours to finish everything off and to cater for our change of mind with existing selections. Unfortunately, they told me that the next step is tender before coming back to WoS to pick everything else. Guess that makes sense as tender deals with the structure of the building whereas World of Style deals with the interior.
I am still nervous though about what to expect at tender and if we will be pushed to sign anything without being 100% certain.
Here’s a link to the photos that I took at World of Style of our possible selections. I wish I had taken more photos. I’ll remember for next time.
